Now I understand many may not be interested in soccer at all, primarily because those who do not like it, have never given a decent level of soccer a glance live, on site. The same goes for those who enjoy a hockey game live in the arena, but can't enjoy trying to follow the puck at home on TV. Understandable. However, with the Maine Sting and Tide, there is something truly remarkable going on. Besides President of both teams, Cheryl Stokes, and VP Seth Brown, all of the teams' staff are comprised of college students. That's right, college students.
Myself, along with about 15 others are in charge of everything from expenses to music and entertainment on game days. These internships are countable for school credit and are done on will and pride to get the teams off the ground only. Try outs for the teams will be in April and the majority of the home schedule will be in May and June.
