The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee has a new member. Mike Bobinski, director of athletics at Xavier University, has been appointed to the committee effective September 1, 2008. He will serve on the panel for the next five years. Bobinski replaces Horizon League Commissioner Jon LeCrone, whose term ends in August. This committee helps run the Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament by selecting and seeding all of the teams. They also have a say in where games in the preliminary rounds of the tournament are played.
I believe that Bobinski will bring a lot of fresh ideas to the table as the newest member of the committee, based on his combination of prior experiences and strong leadership skills.
