Scandal At Indiana

Indiana basketball coach Kelvin Sampson and his coaching staff violated telephone recruiting restrictions then lied about it to school and NCAA investigators. The NCAA has listed five major violations against Sampson.

Major violations, such as the ones Sampson and Indiana are facing, can carry punishments including postseason ineligibility. The Hoosiers have had no NCAA major violations since 1960.

Whats next for Indiana? the Hoosiers has to provide a written response before May 8th. As of now a postseason ban would only come into play if Indiana decides to impose such a punishment against itself.

This isn't the first time coach Kelvin Sampson has come under fire for violating a schools recruiting guidlines. While he was the head coach of Oklahoma he also violated NCAA guidlines for recruiting over the telephone to several players. Apparently he didn't learn from his previous mistakes, and was trying to get a leg up on other teams to bring back the Hoosiers dynasty.
